Imagine doing what you love right in the entertainment capital of the world.
From the Hollywood Walk of Fame and iconic Chinese Theatre to the magnificent 45-foot tall Hollywood Sign, Los Angeles is the place to be for film, media & performing arts.
Relativity Workshops’ flagship campus is based at downtown’s LA Center Studios, a 20-acre active production lot.
Students at Relativity’s LA campus rehearse and take class at Los Angeles Center Studios, a full-service studio for TV, film and commercial production. Students have access to professional camera-ready sets including authentic-looking hospital rooms, jail cells, an icy morgue, sunny outdoor cityscapes, a classic courtroom and other ordinary hard-to-find locations – even a 1950’s malt shop.
Make your shorts in the same studios where films like Anchorman, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Wolf of Wall Street were produced as well as the hit series Mad Men. Los Angeles Center Studios is constantly buzzing with new productions every day – you may even spot a celebrity between takes.
Relativity Workshops students are treated like professionals and work in a professional setting with high quality industry equipment. Seasoned industry veterans provide guidance and mentorship throughout the program, ensuring that students always feel comfortable operating equipment and working in small teams of actors, directors and production crew.
Between classes, students can take advantage of LA Center Studios’ restaurant, Flix, and designated lunch and lounge areas. The studio provides a fully enclosed campus with comprehensive 24/7 security and checkpoints, as well as private parking.
Our LA campus offers concentrations such as Film Production, Acting for the Camera, Commercial Dance, Directing, Producing, Screenwriting, Editing, Scoring for Film, and more.

Our top priority is the safety and well being of our students. Teens are accompanied by Resident Counselors or staff at all times. Counselors live in the residence (one per twelve students of each gender); perform curfew checks nightly at 10pm; and are available by phone 24-hours a day via a counselor hotline number. Should a call be made to that number, Emma Greer, Director of Workshops, will be notified immediately.
All counselors are fully vetted and must pass a series of national background checks, be at least 20 years old, possess strong leadership skills and provide exemplary references. We employ qualified candidates who have completed Residence Assistant training programs or have equivalent experience. Likewise, all counselors are licensed drivers with approved driving records. Our staff and/or counselors are available 24/7 to ensure student safety in the classroom, during activities and at student housing locations. We employ staff members and counselors certified in both Red Cross First Aid and CPR.
Students staying in school housing will have breakfast foods and beverages available each day. Additionally, any students who would like the convenience of a meal plan for lunches and/or dinners can choose from the following options:
- $60 (per week) 5 lunches
- $125 (per week) 5 lunches + 5 dinners
Evening and Weekend Activities
Optional evening and weekend activities will be available every week and will include structured supervised events with our counselors, staff and fellow students. All commuting students are invited to attend weeknight activities at their discretion (depending on the event, there may be a participation fee). Planned excursions may include movie screenings, bowling nights, beach time, picnics, hiking, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Madame Tussauds wax museum, The Grove LA, Disneyland, and more. We also take advantage of the thriving downtown Los Angeles scene, including LA LIVE, the premiere destination for live entertainment. Students are responsible for covering some event expenses – such as food, souvenirs, etc. Schedules and itineraries will be available at orientation on the first day of classes. Students between the ages of 13 and 17 are only permitted to leave campus and/or housing with proper documentation from parents or guardians.
We offer courtesy airport pickup and drop-off from LAX (Los Angeles Airport) by request. Students must arrive and depart the day before classes start and the day after classes end. Flight details including airline, flight number, and arrival time must be sent to our office no later than one week prior to program start dates. Please note that we cannot accommodate early arrivals or late departures.
