Spend your summer vacation studying your craft in Los Angeles with real working professionals!
This December we will be offering a two week intensive for students from South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. While in Los Angeles, these students will have the opportunity to study acting, commercial dance, or film production!
We wish to arm the next-generation of content-creators with not only strong storytelling skills, but also the opportunity to work collaboratively in a project-based learning environment.
We want our students to embrace the digital revolution and understand that true innovation requires delivery. Our workshops mission is to unleash the imagination and bring creative ideas to fruition – creating artists who are entrepreneurs – under expert mentorship and guidance!

A Day in the Life: Summer EditionRead More...
8:15am Roll out of bed, turn off my alarm, and look out at the beautiful Los Angeles skyline. This. Is. My. Summer.
Only days earlier I was packing for my three week stay in LA. Now, instead of camping, tents, and bug spray, I’m focusing on my love of film by spending three weeks at the Relativity Workshops teen summer camp.
8:45am Arrive at Los Angeles Center Studios in downtown LA. Say hello to the rest of my friends and classmates while I find my bearings on one of Hollywood’s working production studios.
As I head towards the large Relativity glass doors, I realize that something exciting is filming on the lot today…could it be Gracie & Frankie or Girl Meets World?? The options are endless! Grip and electric crew members move in and out of production trucks, and a person from the Art department carries a large potted plant into the reception area. This campus is definitely buzzing with energy.
9:00am I say a couple more quick hellos before I check my schedule, and then it’s off to screenwriting. I’ve always wanted to be a writer/director, and I’m so excited to learn from someone who can help make my short film concept a reality!
10:45am So many ideas, so little time. I take a much needed break with my fellow film production classmates, and talk to them about what we have just learned!
11:00am Now that I know the basics, its time to take action. Only 2 hours to start writing my short film script! I’ve seen the painting we are using for inspiration…now to come up with a narrative concept….
12:45pm Mmm I’m starving. Thank goodness for lunch! Time to check in with the rest of the students in my program…what did Musical Theatre learn today…maybe I have time to help the actors practice their lines!
1:45pm Can anyone say three point-lighting?? This lighting class was so helpful. We’ve already started preparing for our silent short film projects, and I’ve got a lot of work to do! I think knowing this new setup will come in handy for me in the future.
3:45pm Hitchock shadow shot! Want me to teach you how to recreate it? Well, now I can, and by the end of this week, I will have shot my own black and white short film…and in a morgue no less!
5:30pm What a wonderful second day of classes. I cannot wait to come back tomorrow to learn more. I know technically the day is over, but I just cannot stop thinking about everything I learned today! Good thing I’m staying with the rest of my classmates in an apartment close to campus…I have a feeling we will continue to talk film over dinner and a movie later tonight!
